CVOR Technologist Surgical Tech Job in Martinsburg, WV

WVU Berkeley Medical Center is seeking an experienced Surgical Tech to join its Cardiothoracic and Vascular Operating Room (CVOR) team in Martinsburg, WV. This is a rotating shift position in an acute care setting with a 91-day contract starting October 19, 2026.

Position Overview:

You will work in a specialized surgical environment performing cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures. Your responsibilities include instrument setup, case support, and potential floating to other OR services. One week of unit orientation is provided. You must have direct experience in cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery—this role is not open to new travelers or clinicians without prior CVOR experience.

Shift and Call Requirements:

• Rotating shifts (you may specify your preference)
• Mandatory call: one night per week and one weekend per month
• Holiday call rotation as needed
• 30-minute call response time required

Compensation and Duration:

Weekly pay is $2,620.80. Contracts are open for 13 weeks or longer. Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week assignment or 1 shift for shorter assignments.

Common Cases and Procedures:

• Cardiac: CABG, valve repair and replacement (open and robotic), ECMO support, and transplant procedures
• Thoracic: Robotic, endoscopic, and open procedures including lung resection, VATS, esophagostomy, POEM, hiatal hernia repair, mediport placement, EGD, and GI/respiratory stent placement
• Vascular: Diagnostic angiography, percutaneous interventions, surgical endarterectomy, dialysis access management, AAA repair (open and endovascular), visceral arterial repair/intervention, and amputation

Requirements and Facility Details:

• Current BLS Certification (AHA)
• Proven experience in cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery
• Travel experience preferred
• Hospital-provided ceil blue surgical scrubs
• EPIC charting system
