PACU Registered Nurse Job in San Francisco, CA

Join Sutter Health CPMC Van Ness Campus as a Registered Nurse in our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You will provide individualized peri-anesthesia nursing care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients from admission through discharge in a high-acuity setting.

Position Details

• Schedule: 4 × 10-hour day shifts with start times between 9:00 AM and 12:30 PM
• No weekend shifts required
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: July 27, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,678.40

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Phase I PACU care with 1:2 patient ratio
• Manage airway care and perform nursing assessments using peri-anesthesia standards of care
• Apply knowledge of pharmacology including doses, purpose, interactions, side effects, and medication reactions
• Work with extensive cardiac and cath lab holding room experience required
• Float to other campuses as needed based on census

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of PACU RN experience, preferably in a high-acuity care hospital
• ICU experience required
• Travel healthcare experience required
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS (AHA), and PALS certifications
• Valid California RN licensure

You will receive 24-hour orientation to ensure a smooth transition into the role. This position offers the opportunity to work in a structured peri-anesthesia environment while maintaining schedule predictability with no weekend commitments.
