About this role
St Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for a 91-day travel assignment. You will work a 4x10 flex schedule with night shifts from 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM, Tuesday through Friday, plus weekend call coverage from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. No regular call requirements apply.
Your responsibilities:
- Perform head and neck scans, whole body imaging, and various ultrasound procedures
- Complete approximately 30–40 scans per 10-hour shift
- Collaborate with a team of 4 technologists
- Operate GE and Phillips ultrasound equipment
- Document findings in EPIC electronic medical records and McKesson PACS system
Required qualifications:
- Current BLS certification
- RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) via ARDMS
- RDMS-AB (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Abdomen) via ARDMS
- Demonstrated experience with head and neck scans and body scanning
Preferred qualifications:
- OB certification (not required)
Assignment details:

- Orientation: 1–2 weeks depending on your experience
- Holiday coverage may be requested but is optional
- No IV starting required
- No floating to other departments
- Light blue scrubs required (facility-provided or bring your own)
This is a straightforward ultrasound role with a stable team and clearly defined responsibilities. You will work solely in ultrasound without department rotation. If you hold the required ARDMS certifications and have experience with head and neck and body imaging, this assignment offers predictable night-shift hours and an opportunity to work with established equipment and medical record systems.
