PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts available on days (6:30 AM - 6:30 PM) and nights (6:30 PM - 6:30 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement
• PCU level of care on 4th Floor East Wing
• 55-bed unit with a 1:4 RN ratio for both day and night shifts
• Patient population primarily adult; pediatric patients are rare and will be 15 years or older
• Common patient diagnoses include CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, subdural hematoma, and weakness
• Common drips and medications include PCA pumps for pain management, Cardizem, and insulin
• Telemetry competency required
• Charting system: EPIC
• IV pumps: Alaris
• Mechanical lifts available in every other room
• Nursing assistant support, charge nurse, educator, care managers, social workers, dieticians, PT, and OT available on unit
• Float capability required, ideally to medical-surgical areas based on highest need
• Scrub colors: Navy Blue for RNs, Ceil Blue for CNAs
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Pass/fail open book orientation exam required with a minimum score of 90%
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• BSN not required
• Valid driver's license required at submittal
