Description
Opportunity:
Nuclear Medical Technician - Nuclear Med Technician
Job Details:
• Perform quality control measures on nuclear medicine equipment and devices including troubleshooting and maintenance
• Confer with physicians to determine appropriate procedures for effective operations
• Document all laboratory operations including receipt and disposition of radioactive materials
• Maintain instrument and procedural quality control data, patient procedures, and medical records
• Exercise judgment in performing scheduled examinations and procedures to ensure compliance with guidelines
• Provide clinical instructions for radiology students and residents
• Operate gamma cameras, including SPECT/CT and PET/CT scanners, nuclear medicine computers, and cardiac stress equipment
• Administer intramuscular and intravenous injections and start intravenous lines
• Perform cardiac studies with basic EKG knowledge
• Maintain knowledge of nuclear medicine therapeutic treatments
• On call schedule to be determined by facility
• Weekend schedule to be determined by facility
• Required certifications: ARRT, BLS (AHA)
• Must have 24 months minimum of current Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience
• Active permanent or temporary Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification from Texas Medical Board required
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with certification in Nuclear Medicine (N) or CNMT within 6 months of hire required
• Siemens and Spectrum Imaging experience highly preferred
• Must have thorough working knowledge of chemistry, physics, mathematics and biomedical sciences related to nuclear medicine technology
