Med Surg RN Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment on a 40-bed Medical-Surgical inpatient unit. You will provide care to pre- and post-surgical adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced environment with 90–95% occupancy and 10–15 admissions per day.

Assignment Details

• 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Start date: July 13, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,377.08
• Every other weekend and holiday required
• Eligible for up to 36 hours of low census unbillable time, including reduced 4-hour shifts

Responsibilities

• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Deliver post-surgical care with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:7 on nights
• Use Epic EMR, medication scanning rovers, and Alaris pumps
• Multitask and prioritize based on patient acuity
• Collaborate as a team member in a dynamic clinical setting

Required Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin RN license
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2+ years Med Surg experience with recent hospital employment
• Trauma Level II experience
• Prior travel nursing experience
• Proficiency with Epic EMR charting
• Associate degree or certificate (bachelor's degree preferred)
• Ability to work outside 50-mile radius of facility
