ED Registered Nurse Job in Carlsbad, NM

Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking an RN for a 13-week travel assignment in the Emergency Department. You will work day shift from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM on a 3x12 schedule at this Level 3 Trauma facility.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting with a 4:1 patient ratio
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and communicate findings to the healthcare team
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse effects
• Document care thoroughly using the MedHost (EDIS) electronic medical record system
• Apply critical thinking and scientific judgment to deliver safe, effective care
• Delegate tasks appropriately based on staff education and experience
• Maintain adherence to safety standards, infection control protocols, and quality improvement initiatives
• Demonstrate accountability for emergency care delivery in accordance with the New Mexico Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC
• Preferred certifications: ENPC and NRP
• New Mexico fingerprint clearance required for all travelers

Assignment Details:

• Weekly pay: $1,782
• Start date: July 27, 2026
• Floating between departments may be required
• 6-week scheduling cycles with maximum 1 RTO per schedule
• RTO blackout dates apply for designated summer and winter holidays
• Call-out notification required minimum 2 hours prior to shift start
• Full uniform required
