RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Work in a 14-bed Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit (CSICU/CVICU)
• Weekend coverage required with every other weekend shift per contract
• Self-scheduling environment
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Manage 1-2 patient assignments with diagnoses including CABGs, valve repair/replacements, aortic surgeries, VADs, total artificial hearts, heart/liver/kidney transplants, thoracic cases, esophagectomy, and vascular surgeries
• Provide oversight for circulatory assist devices including Heartmate II and Heartmate III LVAD, CentriMag RVAD/LVAD, Heartware HVAD, ECMO, CRRT, IABP, and Total Artificial Heart
• Perform invasive hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive IV medications
• Provide post-operative recovery care
• Operate special equipment including Endotool and NXSTAGE CRRT
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required; CSICU/CVICU experience at a Level I facility required
• Level I trauma experience and academic facility experience required
• Strong skills required in CRRT, IABP, ECMO, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and post-op cardiothoracic surgery recovery
• EPIC charting experience required, no exceptions
• BSN preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Required skills: Conscious Sedation, Pulmonary Artery Lines, Telemetry, Ventilators
• Virginia or compact state nursing license required
• Candidates may float within scope if needed
• Natural nail policy enforced
