Med Surg RN Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week Medical-Surgical assignment beginning July 6, 2026. You will work 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) with 36 guaranteed hours per week and every other weekend and holiday rotation required.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care in a 40-bed Post Surgical Care Unit serving pre- and post-surgical adults and geriatric patients. The unit maintains 90–95% occupancy during the week with an average of 10–15 admissions per day and average length of stay of 2–3 days. You will float to all inpatient units as needed and manage a patient ratio of 1:5–7 on night shifts. Your responsibilities include multitasking, prioritizing care based on acuity, and collaborating as part of a team.

Requirements

• Current Wisconsin RN license
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2+ years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience with recent hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing (Bachelor's Degree preferred)

Equipment and Systems

You will use Epic EMR for charting, Rovers for medication scanning, and Alaris infusion pumps. Any color scrubs are permitted.

Compensation and Duration

Weekly pay: $2,377.08. Assignment length: 91 days.

Contractors must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, Wisconsin.
