Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Details:

• Primarily work on telemetry adult floors, emergency department, and potentially pediatric floors
• Treat patients ranging in age from birth to geriatrics, including adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Knowledge and experience treating pediatric patients is required due to busy ED with critical patients of all ages
• Every other weekend required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS, NRBC, and CA RRT
• Perform a wide range of respiratory therapy skills including adult and pediatric critical care, BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), intubation assist, extubation, mechanical ventilation and weaning, arterial blood gas drawing and interpretation, tracheostomy care and management, bronchoscopy, ECMO, chest physiotherapy, aerosol treatments, and patient transport (inter-departmental and ambulance)
• Administer respiratory medications including albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Pulmicort, Spiriva, Xopenex, racemic epinephrine, and inhaled steroids
• Experience with conditions such as ARDS, RSV, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, respiratory distress syndrome, aspiration, and near drowning
• Perform spirometry, sputum specimen collection, oral and nasal suctioning, and pulmonary hygiene
