Mammography Technologist Job in Bethel, AK

You will perform mammography examinations on patients across all ages, from newborn through geriatric populations. This 91-day travel role is based at Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, Alaska, with day shift hours and a weekly pay of $3,212.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine screening and specialized diagnostic mammography views
• Prepare and position patients while respecting comfort and ability
• Evaluate images for technical quality and perform QA/QC duties
• Corroborate patient clinical history with procedures and assess patient conditions
• Maintain patient records with strict confidentiality
• Apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure
• Provide patient instructions to minimize anxiety during procedures
• Participate in orientation and training of new staff members
• Perform clerical duties as needed for department coverage

Required Qualifications:

• Current ARRT (R)(M) registration or equivalent
• Current BLS certification
• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program with dedicated mammography training

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two years post-graduation experience in mammography
• Recent x-ray experience
• Experience with Fuji equipment
• Ability to perform digital mammography and tomosynthesis studies
• Compliance with MQSA requirements including 15 breast CEU within 36 months and 200 mammography exams in 24 months

You will receive initial training in digital mammography and tomosynthesis techniques. Maintaining certification through continuing education is required throughout your assignment.
