Medical Laboratory - Medical Laboratory Technician

Job Details:

• Work evening shifts from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Strong blood bank experience required
• Collect, process, and receive specimens including blood, urine, fecal, and body fluid samples for analysis across all clinical laboratory departments
• Evaluate and solve problems related to collection and processing of biological specimens across all age ranges
• Perform complex laboratory procedures, recognize deviations from expected results, and correct problems using scientific principles
• Analyze quality control data, make judgments concerning results, and take appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision
• Participate in the evaluation of new techniques and procedures in terms of personnel, equipment, cost, and establishment of reference intervals
• Write and revise technical procedures as needed
• Answer inquiries regarding test results, methodology, test specificity and sensitivity, and factors that influence test results
• Review all instrument indicators and temperature monitors for laboratory departments
• Maintain self-competency in laboratory skills
• Bachelor's degree required (Associates Degree accepted for grandfathered personnel)
• CLS or MT (ASCP) certification or equivalent required
• New MT graduates must pass certification exam within 6 months of employment start date
