Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Rehab Inpatient

Job Details:

• Work with acute rehabilitation patient population including spinal cord injury, brain injury, oncology, limb loss, trauma/ortho, and general debilitation cases
• Administer Heparin drips as part of patient care
• Day shift nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 and night shift ratio of 7:1
• Required to float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran
• Every other weekend schedule required
• No on-call responsibilities
• 24 months of current Rehab, Med Surg, or Medical Surgical experience required
• Must be able to handle a variety of patients independently including neuro, ortho, trauma, and oncology
• Experience caring for brain injury, limb loss, and spinal cord injury patients required
• At least 1 successful travel contract completed within previous 24 months required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license required
• Skills checklist specific to Rehab/Med Surg discipline required
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within 24 months preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
• NIHSS certificate is a nice to have given the patient population
• Must work 1-2 of 3 upcoming Summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless unit is closed
