PCU Registered Nurse Job in Bismarck, ND

CHI St Alexius Health Bismarck Medical Center is seeking an RN for a 91-day travel assignment in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You will work 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) with every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday requirements. Rotating shifts occur no more than weekly.

Patient Care & Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including cardiac catheterizations, EP studies, pacemakers, ETOH withdrawal, COVID-related BiPap support, post-surgical cardiac cases, pneumonia, acute-on-chronic conditions, influenza, and sepsis
• Titrate critical drips: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitroglycerin, Nipride, Lasix, and low-dose Dopamine
• Read and interpret cardiac strips independently
• Operate RT equipment including BiPap, tracheostomies, and Airvo devices
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5 (occasional 1:5–6 on nights; 1:3 for PCU-level overflow)

Unit & Facility Details

• Float support across all areas: full patient loads in PCU, full assignments on Med-Surg, and occasional ER holds/boarding
• Electronic health record: Epic
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Two 12-hour orientation shifts (Friday and Saturday of first week)

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• PCU experience with demonstrated ability to read cardiac strips
• Telemetry or cardiac RN background required
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Epic experience preferred

Assignment Details

Assignment begins July 27, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,255.04.
