ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN in the emergency department at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment with 3x12 night shifts (6:45 PM–7:15 AM), paying $1,918.44 weekly.

About the Role

You'll provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department that serves over 100,000 visits annually. Patient ratios are typically 4:1 for medical patients, with up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds. You won't float outside the ED, but you'll work flexibly across all sections within the emergency department. You must work every other weekend with scheduling based on department needs.

Your Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care and real-time coaching to team members
• Work with Baxter pumps, GE monitors, and Cerner documentation
• Follow AIDET protocols and maintain respectful patient experience standards
• Update patient boards and communicate with patients throughout their visit
• Collaborate with support techs available in cardiac monitoring, triage, and internal processing areas

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in an emergency room setting
• Required certifications before start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
• Previous Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center experience preferred
• Demonstrated teamwork mentality and ability to provide feedback
• Navy scrubs required as part of dress code
