PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts, available as day shift (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) or night shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5, occasional 1:5-6 on nights, with PCU level care overflow at 1:3
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with conditions including cardiac, ETOH, pneumonia, sepsis, influenza, and acute on chronic conditions
• Required to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, and Lasix
• Required to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Work with BiPap, trachs, and Airvo respiratory equipment
• Float to PCU for full patient load, medical-surgical for full patient assignment, and occasional ER holds/boarding
• Chart using EPIC system
• 2 orientation shifts of 12 hours each (Friday and Saturday of first week)
• PCU experience required; telemetry and cardiac nursing background strongly preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Any color scrubs permitted
