RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend schedule required
• 6 weekend shifts required from Friday evening to Monday morning at 7:00 AM per scheduling cycle
• 3 holiday shifts required, including the eve or day of the holiday
• No on-call or standby requirement, however cancellations may occur on a 4-hour basis if scheduled
• Self-scheduling allowed with staffing center balancing the schedule for unit needs
• 22-bed Cardiovascular/Thoracic ICU unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3
• Care for general ICU, cardiac, respiratory failure, and post open heart surgery patients
• Manage complex patients on multiple vasopressors, balloon pumps, Impella devices, and CRRT
• Titrate drips including Levophed, Epinephrine, Vasopressin, Cardene, Primacor, and Heparin
• Perform basic management of respiratory equipment including vents, CPAP, BiPap, and high flow devices alongside Respiratory Therapy
• Required to read and interpret own telemetry strips using GE monitoring equipment
• Intensivist available 24/7 and Respiratory Therapy available in ICU 24/7
• Charge nurse present on each shift with the ability to take patients if needed
• Patient care is nurse driven with occasional nurse aide or patient care tech support
• Floating to other inpatient areas may be required
• Charting system: EPIC
• Dress code: Galaxy blue scrubs with option to interchange with black pants
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
