Registered Nurse - PICU @ University of Virginia Medical Center

Opportunity:

RN - PICU

Job Details:

• 13-week assignment working nights or rotating shifts
• Work 3 weekends per six-week schedule
• Patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2, occasionally 2:1 for high acuity patients
• May be required to float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS
• Epic charting system experience required
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Pediatric cardiac experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Care for combined pediatric cardiac and medical critical care patients
• Handle high census and high acuity unit
• Work with special equipment including ECMO, VADs, and CRRT
• Provide care for patients ranging from neonates to adolescents
• 25-bed unit with daily census of 23 patients
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
• Guaranteed up to 40 hours of RTO per 13-week contract
• Must have Virginia license in-hand by Wednesday before start date
