Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Job Details:

• Work in 40-bed cardiac surgery stepdown unit with 1:5 patient ratio
• Primary patient population includes CV surgery and vascular surgery patients (open heart surgery, thoracic lung surgery, AAA repairs, etc.)
• Also receive overflow medical cardiology patients with heart failure, DKA, chest pain, and sepsis
• Perform epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV glucommander, and cardiac drip management
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Must have stepdown and telemetry experience
• Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery population experience preferred
• CVICU experience preferred
• Work with Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various lifts
• Use Cerner EMR system
• Weekend requirement: minimum 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday day/night) per 6-week schedule period
• No call responsibilities
• Flexible to work holidays
• Float to any stepdown (1:5 ratios) or medical-surgical (1:6-7 ratios) units, or ER inpatient holding area (1:6)
• Dress code: All navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white scrubs
• Must be team player who enjoys fast-paced environment and demonstrates flexibility
