PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care

Opportunity:

RN - Critical Care Peds Float Pool

Job Details:

• Day shift position working 36 or 48 hours per week
• 13-week assignment
• Float pool position rotating to various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Peds Med/Surg, Peds PACU, Peds ED boarders, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
• May be required to float to Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby during staffing needs
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Must have both PICU and NICU experience and be comfortable with pediatric patients
• Peds PACU experience highly preferred
• Travel experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• BSN preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS
• Dr. Browns Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (can submit with certification pending)
• Must adhere to float pool policy
• Virginia nursing license required (can submit with license pending)
• Up to 40 hours of pre-approved time off per contract; no time off approved during first 2 weeks of assignment
• Patient ratios vary by unit: PICU 1:2, NICU 1:2 (ICU) or 1:3 (ICN), Acute Pediatrics 1:4-1:5, Peds ED variable
• Key clinical skills include ventilator management, ECMO, arterial line management, hemodynamic monitoring, IV vasopressors, central line care, and pediatric dosage calculations
