Sterile Processing Tech - Sterile Processing Tech

Job Details:

• Shift hours are either 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM or 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Shift schedule is Thursday through Monday
• Weekend coverage required - one weekend day out of the week (Sun-Thurs or Tues-Sat rotation)
• Floating required between two campuses located approximately 3 minutes apart
• Must be a Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) issued by IAHCSMM or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Tech (CSPDT) issued by CBSPD
• Minimum 2 years of experience required with Level I trauma experience
• Minimum 3 years of total experience required
• High school diploma or GED required along with successful completion of an approved central processing course
• Knowledge of Operating Room instrumentation required
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions required
• Ability to maintain records and label items accurately
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods required
• Responsible for sorting, cleaning, packaging, and sterilizing items used throughout the hospital
• Responsible for maintenance of instruments, pans, trays, and related items for sterilization
• Works under general supervision of the Shift Supervisor
• Required skills include aseptic technique, manual cleaning, sets/trays assembly, sterilization wrapping procedures, use of washers/sterilizers, scope/probe reprocessing, and proper labeling
