ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Mission Hospital, a Level II trauma center with comprehensive stroke center capabilities. This 91-day travel assignment runs from June 15, 2026, on a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week, working 10:45 AM to 11:15 PM, with every-other-weekend rotations required.

Your role includes:

• Providing direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department that receives over 100,000 annual visits
• Managing typical patient ratios of 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
• Floating across all sections of the emergency department as needed to support department operations
• Working with a 101-bed ED equipped with Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Documenting care in the Cerner system with support from techs and unit clerks
• Following AIDET protocols and maintaining respectful patient experience standards
• Updating patient boards and keeping patients informed throughout their visit

Required qualifications before your start date: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting. Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications are required. You must complete ENPC certification within 90 days of hire.

Previous experience in a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center environment is preferred. You must demonstrate strong teamwork, the ability to coach colleagues, and provide real-time feedback in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work all areas of the emergency department is essential.

Compensation: You will earn $1,918.44 per week. Navy scrubs are required as part of the dress code.
