Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work on Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit with post cardiac catheterization patients
• Manage cardiac drips without titration for blood pressure
• 6:1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• Weekend coverage required
• May be assigned to "Emergency Team" with expectation to stay at facility during emergency events
• Float required as agency first pull, may float to sister facility
• Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted)
• 2 years of acute care experience required
• Telemetry experience and ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias required
• Required certifications: BLS, compact or Louisiana license in hand upon submittal
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, NIH
• Care for patients with chest pain, CAD, diabetes, COPD exacerbations, strokes, cardiac arrhythmias
• Perform pre and post angiogram/angioplasty care (no sheath pulls)
• Work with telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, and wound vacs
• Handle general surgical procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, appendectomy
• Manage central line catheters, thoracentesis, and paracentesis procedures
• Unit accepts first-time travelers
• Epic charting system experience preferred
