Description
<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>Registered Nurse - PCU</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• Work in Progressive Care Unit with 1:5 patient ratio (may flex to 1:6 on rare occasions)<br>• 2 years of nursing experience required<br>• Travel experience required<br>• 8 weekend shifts required in 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday)<br>• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed per unit<br>• Regular floating required between departments, units and facilities<br>• Must hold both Kansas and Missouri nursing licenses or compact license<br>• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS<br>• Navy scrubs required<br>• Epic charting system experience required<br>• Free parking provided<br>• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13 weeks<br>• Maximum 7 days request time off<br>• Must complete 10-15 hours of pre-start modules<br>• Required skills: MS/Tele, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, heparin protocols, PCA, chest tube management, oxygen administration, isolation precautions, wound care<br>• Preferred skills: cardiac telemetry, ER holding, feeding tube management, renal failure care, CVA care, orthopedic trauma, tracheostomy management<br>• Care for patients with medical diagnoses related to pulmonary, wounds, urology, general cardiac, general neuro, and general renal conditions<br>• Serve adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This tertiary care hospital is a 5-time Magnet Award winner with 456 staffed beds, serving as a Level 1 Trauma center and teaching facility. The hospital features a 24-bed Progressive Care Unit and provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services.
