Cardiac Cath Specialist - Cardiac Cath Specialist
Job Details:
• Greater than 2 years of experience at a large hospital Cardiac Cath Lab that provides STEMI care and advanced Cardiac Cath procedures required
• Experience with pulmonary embolism, cardiogenic shock, ECMO, and diagnostic and interventional treatment of CAD required
• Assist physicians with obtaining digital radiographic images of the heart, peripheral vessels, and other required structures
• Control radiographic equipment to acquire quality images and pan the radiographic table for physician visualization
• Set x-ray acquisition parameters for cardiac and peripheral procedures to provide quality images
• Practice radiation safety by utilizing distance and appropriate protective attire
• Demonstrate expert knowledge in hemodynamics, diagnostic, interventional, and peripheral procedures including devices and protocols
• Anticipate patient and physician needs and alert physician to changes in patient condition
• Perform daily room quality controls and notify appropriate personnel of variances
• Prepare procedure room and equipment for daily use and each procedure
• Manage in-room inventory and ensure adequate stock for routine daily case volumes
• Store all patient care products in accordance with JCAHO regulations
• Document data necessary for patient records, Apollo reporting, charge entry, and image archiving
• Retrieve stored information from Witt, HeartLab, ICE, and IVUS systems and verify data entry accuracy
• Deliver pre-, during, and post-procedure patient care with accurate documentation and data entry
• Prepare scrub table and prep patient for procedure while maintaining sterile techniques
• Prepare lines and devices for administration of injectable fluids and inject drugs under direct physician supervision
• Insert IVs as required during procedures
• Operate, inspect, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance on a variety of cardiac catheterization lab equipment including IVUS, Combo Map, ICE, and HeartLab
• Initiate maintenance or service requests for damaged or malfunctioning equipment
• May perform lead worker responsibilities including training, education of staff, and assigning work to other specialists
• Work in an organized and timely manner by prioritizing tasks to ensure efficient and effective patient care
• Ensure quality and accuracy of reported laboratory data and report variances to physician
