Registered Nurse - SICU @ University of Virginia Medical Center

RN - SICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced 15-bed Surgical/Trauma ICU
• 13-week assignment with choice of 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday schedule
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• Maintain 1:2 nurse to patient ratios with changes based on patient acuity
• Care for adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with surgical and trauma critical care needs
• Manage post-operative patients from emergency or highly complex surgical procedures
• Provide care for patients with multisystem traumatic injuries
• Must have 1 year of nursing experience with 2:1 patient ratio experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must adhere to facility float policy within scope of practice
• Level I trauma experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• 24-hour orientation provided
• Virginia license required (can submit with pending license but must have in hand Wednesday before start date)
• References required
• Guaranteed up to 40 hours of RTO per 13-week contract
