Sterile Processing Technician Job in Clinton, MD

You will work as a Sterile Processing Technician at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton, MD. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting September 21, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $1,313.28.

Schedule and On-Call Expectations

• 5x8 night shifts from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• On-call requirement 24 hours on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays as needed
• One 24-hour weekend call required once per month
• One 24-hour holiday call required per contract
• One day shift on one weekend day per week
• Four weekend shifts required per contract

Core Responsibilities

• Decontamination and disinfection of surgical instruments
• Aseptic technique and case cart management
• Organizing and assembling instrument trays
• Placing instruments on trays and using preference cards
• Proper selection and use of wrapping materials
• Sterilization wrapping procedures and equipment documentation
• Sterile Processing Microsystem (SPM) operations

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician
• Current certification: CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA (either accepted)
• Completion of at least one prior travel assignment

Additional Skills

Experience with acute hospital OR operations, biological and chemical indicators, high-level disinfection (HLD), immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS), manual cleaning, scope and probe reprocessing, steam sterilization testing and monitoring, ultrasonic cleaning, washers and sterilizers, laparoscopic instruments, sets and trays assembly, and robotics is preferred.
