Med Surg RN Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical-Surgical assignment in Wausau, Wisconsin. This is an 8-week contract running 3x12 night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) with 36 guaranteed hours per week and every other weekend and holiday rotation required. Weekly pay is $2,377.08.

You will work in a 40-bed Post Surgical Care Unit providing care for pre and post-surgical adult and geriatric patients. The unit averages 10–15 admissions daily with 90–95% occupancy during the week and a typical patient length of stay of 2–3 days. You may float to other inpatient units as needed.

Nurse-to-patient ratios:

• 1:4 or 1:5 on day/PM shifts
• 1:5 to 1:7 on night shifts

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Wisconsin RN License and current BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2+ years Med Surg experience with recent hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience
• Prior travel nursing experience
• Epic EMR experience
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing (Bachelor's Degree preferred)

Equipment and Tools:

• Epic EMR
• Rovers for medication scanning
• Alaris pumps

You must be able to multitask, prioritize patient care based on acuity, and work collaboratively as part of the nursing team. Any color scrubs are permitted. Contractors must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
