PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Patient ratios of 3:1 or 4:1
• Every other weekend requirement
• Floating required to sister ICCU unit as needed
• Must have 2 years of nursing experience
• Strong drip experience required - unit runs more like an ICU
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Experience required with arterial lines, titrating vasoactive drips, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Must be skilled in blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, heparin protocols
• Experience with chest tubes, CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy management required
• Care for ICU stepdown patients including post rapid response, respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, withdrawal, GI bleeds
• Post-operative care for GYN, GU, GI, thoracotomies, neuro, ortho surgeries
• Manage patients on cardiac and vasoactive drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine
• Work with bedside telemetry monitors, A-lines, BIPAP machines, chest tubes
• Use Epic charting system and Pyxis medication dispensing
• Dress code: Navy, white or combination scrubs
• 24-hour orientation with mandatory daily classes during first week
• Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or 60 hours per week
