Surgical Tech Job in Sacramento, CA

You'll work as a Certified Surgical Technologist in the 4-suite Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) unit at Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning June 23, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,160.80.

Schedule & Expectations

• Four 10-hour day shifts per week
• Overnight call required once per week
• Call coverage required on at least 3 days per week
• Cover 3 weekend days per month (1 full weekend)
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
• Rare mid-shift floats to other Sacramento facilities possible

Your Role

You'll assist in a fast-paced OR environment handling 8–10 surgeries per day. Your focus will be cardiovascular procedures including CABG, valve surgeries, and all heart procedures (no thoracic cases). You'll be responsible for reading and interpreting EKG strips and have hands-on experience with ventilators. You must demonstrate strong confidence and competence in the cardiovascular operating room.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience
• Current BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential via NBSTSA
• NIHSS certification
• First-time travelers accepted
