Pediatrics CVICU RN Job in Omaha, NE

Opportunity:

RN - PICU

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of experience required in PICU or cardiac ICU setting
• First-time travelers accepted
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday); Fridays do not count as weekend
• Patient ratio of 1:2 on days, nights, and weekends
• Average daily census of 21 patients; unit has 32 beds
• Float requirement to PICU, NICU, and Med/Surg as needed
• No on-call required
• Orientation hours: 36
• If PICU is primary experience but floated to Cardiac ICU, frequency must be noted in work history
• Patient age groups include neonates, infants, and pediatrics
• Patient diagnoses include post-op open hearts, single ventricles, complex cardiac anatomy/physiology, heart transplant, and heart failure
• Perform invasive cardiac monitoring including CVP, ART, and RA lines
• ECMO and CRRT exposure or experience required
• Manage vasopressors, cardiac drips, and sedation drips
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS; CCRN preferred
• Required skills include: end-tidal CO2 monitoring, arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, pediatric dosage calculations, tracheostomy care, post cardiac surgery care, ECMO, PICC line management, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Special equipment includes BD and Sigma IV pumps, Philips Monitors, telemetry, Servo ventilators, and POC testing devices
