Registered Nurse - NICU @ Childrens Nebraska

Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour shifts per week
• Required to work one extra shift every 3 weeks during high census periods
• 24-hour orientation provided
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Travel experience required
• BLS certification required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Care for patients aged 23 weeks to 1 year with complex medical conditions
• Common diagnoses include PPHN, bowel perforation, NEC, BPD, tracheostomy/G-button evaluations, pre-operative cardiac anomalies, gastroschisis, and hydrocephalus
• Float to PICU, CCU, or medical surgical floors to care for patients with compatible skill sets
• Patient ratios generally 1:2
• Work with specialized equipment including Drager/Servo/Trilogy ventilators, central lines, and NIRS monitors
• Must be skilled in ventilator management, IV vasopressors, dysrhythmia interpretation, neonatal dosage calculations, and various NICU procedures
• Up to two pre-approved time off requests allowed
• Local candidates within 100-mile radius not accepted
• Former permanent employees not eligible for travel assignments
