PCU Registered Nurse Job in Saint Louis, MO

Christian Hospital in Saint Louis, MO is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a travel nursing position offering 3x12 night shifts with a start date of June 1, 2026, and a 91-day duration. You will earn $2,262.82 per week with guaranteed 36 hours weekly.

Role Overview

You will work in a high-acuity step-down unit that serves as a bridge from the ICU, caring for adult patients with complex medical and surgical needs. Your patient ratio will be 1:4, with a daily census of 25–29 patients in a 29-bed unit. Every other weekend is required (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday night shift rotation).

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience at the bedside
• Current bedside experience within the last 6 months
• Travel nursing experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications

Clinical Skills & Experience

You must demonstrate proficiency and experience with:

• Ventilator management, including trach vents and BiPAP
• Arterial line placement and management
• Titration of vasopressors and sedation medications
• Insulin drips and insulin titration
• OptiFlow oxygen delivery
• External pacemakers and chest tubes

Facility Details

Christian Hospital uses EPIC for charting. You will float to lower-acuity floors as needed. Navy scrubs are required. You will receive 24 hours of orientation before beginning your assignment.
