Mammo Tech - Mammo Tech
Job Details:
• Responsible for the daily operation of the women's health section of radiology
• Perform all mammography exams based on Imaging Department Protocols or coordinate protocols with the Radiologist
• Suggest changes in procedures, policies, and quality improvement, as well as coordinate training and development in breast imaging specialties
• Adhere to all FDA guidelines for the mammography section
• Maintain appropriate records for all accreditation processes and inspections
• Maintain a structured reporting system to ensure accurate audit reporting, statistical tracking, and resolution of workflow issues
• Ensure completion of daily QA and preventative maintenance scheduling
• Practice radiation safety and adhere to ALARA standards
• Operate equipment consistently with manufacturer's recommendations and troubleshoot equipment problems as needed
• Verify exam orders, identify patients through two means of identification, and provide exam education
• Review and document patient medical history, obtain required informed consent, and ensure all necessary paperwork and prior studies are complete
• Maintain accurate patient records in EHR, including charging procedures and supplies
• Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in other modalities, adjusting schedules, and taking calls, overtime, or holiday shifts as needed
• Assist with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transportation when required
• Assist, train, or cross-train imaging staff members as directed
• Must be self-motivated, use independent judgment, and be able to work with minimum supervision
• Responsible for ordering, stocking, and maintaining supply inventory
• Required certifications: ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M), and current BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist required
• Experience with electronic records including PACS and RIS/HIS preferred
• Cross-training into other modalities including CT, MRI, and DEXA preferred
• Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
