About this role
You'll work as a Cath Lab Technologist at Ochsner Medical Center – Baton Rouge, supporting a wide range of cardiac and interventional procedures. This role requires you to be proficient across multiple procedure types, including cardiac catheterization, peripheral interventions, electrophysiology, and interventional radiology.
Schedule & Expectations
- Work 5 days per week on 8–10 hour day shifts
- Cover every other weekend
- Call responsibilities: up to 3 times per week with a 30-minute response time on non-weekend call weeks; 2 times per week on weekend call weeks
- Average daily census of 6 patients
- Emergency team assignment possible during critical events, with expectation to remain until the event resolves
Required Experience & Credentials
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience; prior travel assignments required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, ARRT(R), and Louisiana state radiology license (LSRTBE)
- Proficiency in embolization, coiling, ablations, and implant procedures (ports, pacemakers, ICDs)
- Hands-on experience with Impella, IABP, IVUS, Shockwave, Rotoblator, laser, and thrombectomy devices
- STEMI care experience with demonstrated capability to meet first-to-balloon and door-to-balloon times under 60 minutes
- Ability to perform peripheral and electrophysiology procedures independently and confidently
Equipment & Systems
- Work with advanced imaging and intervention systems: Impella, IABP, Inari, EKOS, Angiojet, Rotoblator, Shockwave, and Diamondback
- Operate Medrad/Acist injectors
- Use EPIC EMR with Cupid documentation module
You will receive 24 hours of on-site orientation. This assignment runs for 91 days, beginning May 11, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,840.
