Certified Surgical Technologist Job in Charleston, SC

MUSC Health Charleston is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the Operating Room team. You will work 3x12-hour shifts per week, scheduled Saturday, Sunday, and one weekday, with no on-call requirements.

Role Overview

As a Certified Surgical Technologist, you will support surgical teams across a range of high-acuity cases. You may float within your scope to meet facility needs or work at sister facilities as needed. Your responsibilities include instrument management, case setup, and procedural support in a Level 1 trauma center.

Case Experience

The facility regularly performs:

• Orthopedic procedures (total joints, spine, trauma)
• Neuro cases (craniotomy, spine)
• ENT cases with flaps
• Robotic surgery (Da Vinci Xi)
• Transplants and procurements
• Trauma and burn cases
• GU and GYN procedures

Experience in neuro (spines/craniotomy), ENT flaps, and robotic cases is highly preferred.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years surgical technologist experience
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• NBSTSA certification (NCCT not accepted)
• BLS certification
• Radiation badge (provided by agency)

Schedule & Compensation

You will earn $1,518 per week working a guaranteed schedule. The facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks; called-off hours can be broken down to equal 1 full shift. Block scheduling is available upon manager approval based on unit needs. First-time travelers are welcome.

MUSC Health Charleston uses the EPIC charting system. Scrub colors are provided by the facility. This assignment runs for 91 days, starting July 27, 2026.
