Radiation Therapist Job in Winchester, VA

Winchester Medical Center is seeking a Radiation Therapist for a 91-day travel assignment. You will work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (5x8 days) with no weekend or on-call requirements. This position offers 36 guaranteed hours per week at $2,721 weekly pay, beginning October 5, 2026.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Deliver radiation treatments to cancer patients according to radiation oncologist prescriptions and instructions
• Perform simulations and provide clinical instruction for radiation therapy students
• Assist during Brachytherapy procedures and treatment planning, including tumor localization and dosimetry
• Verify prescriptions, diagnoses, charts, and patient identification before treatment
• Schedule patients and explain pre-treatment and post-treatment procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms and immobilization devices according to prescription specifications
• Set up IMRT and 3-D patients in CT and create proper immobilization devices for 2-D, 3-D, and IMRT treatments
• Take, process, and file images of all treated areas
• Maintain visual and audible contact with patients during treatments
• Document treatment doses accurately and verify daily charges for billing accuracy
• Document setup instructions and pertinent information for dosimetry calculations
• Observe radiation safety measures for patients and personnel
• Reinforce physician, dietitian, and care team recommendations regarding treatment reactions and side effects
• Use the EPIC EMR system for documentation
• Triage sick patients to nursing for evaluation

Required qualifications:

• Allied Health Professional degree or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of Radiation Therapy experience
• Current BLS certification (AHA only)
• Current ARRT certification
• Virginia state license (VA Temp License acceptable with pending VA License)
