Ultrasound Technologist Job in Bangor, ME

St Joseph Healthcare in Bangor, ME is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 30, 2026. This is a day shift position offering $2,622 per week.

About the Role

You will operate advanced ultrasound equipment to obtain diagnostic imaging for radiologist interpretation. Your responsibilities include:

• Operate medical imaging equipment, directing high-frequency sound waves to anatomy for diagnostic purposes
• Select correct equipment settings and position patients optimally for best imaging results
• Consistently obtain high-quality imaging that meets clinical standards
• Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations and special procedures as directed
• Consult with radiologists for exam review prior to patient discharge
• Provide ultrasound guidance for attending physicians during special procedures
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and notify Clinical Engineering when needed
• Verify orders and patient identification using two established identifiers
• Utilize full operation of ultrasound units and probes with proper labeling of body part and viewing plane
• Demonstrate competence with PACS (Picture Archive Communication System)
• Send images after hours when required
• Demonstrate competence within EPIC system
• Perform high-level disinfection of endocavity probes per facility policy
• Maintain accurate patient records for all procedures performed while adhering to HIPAA standards
• Interact compassionately and effectively with patients
