Medical Laboratory - Medical Laboratory Technician

Job Details:

• Perform specimen processing, testing, and reporting of test results in compliance with regulatory requirements and policies
• Work in a hospital laboratory setting providing sub-specialties including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, blood bank, microbiology, and clinical microscopy
• Laboratory provides 24-hour coverage with rotating day, evening, and night shifts including weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime
• Medical Laboratory Technician education requirement: High School Diploma and at least 60 semester hours including 6 hours chemistry, 6 hours biology, and 12 hours laboratory science, OR completion of an approved military laboratory training program
• Medical Laboratory Scientist education requirement: Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science and at least 48 semester hours of science coursework
• Medical Laboratory Technician certification required within 18 months of hire from AMT, ASCP, or other nationally recognized certification agency consistent with CLIA requirements
• Medical Laboratory Scientist certification required within 18 months of hire from AMT, ASCP, or other nationally recognized certification agency consistent with CLIA requirements
• Certifications must be maintained in active status for the duration of employment
• Must maintain continuing education (CE) per certifying body requirements
• Medical Laboratory Technician requires minimum of 6 months of clinical laboratory experience across core areas including chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and blood bank
• Medical Laboratory Scientist requires minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience including rotations in blood bank, microbiology, chemistry, and hematology
