About this role

You will work as a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, NY. This is a 13-week travel nursing contract beginning May 12, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

  • 3 night shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Weekly pay: $2,209.94

Patient Care Responsibilities

  • Primary patient ratio: 1:4 on nights, 1:3 on days and weekends
  • Float to ICU or medical-surgical units as needed, with ratios of 1:5 to 1:7 for medical-surgical assignments
  • Provide continuous monitoring including pulse-oximetry and telemetry
  • Manage cardiac dysrhythmias, interpret rhythms, and respond to emergencies
  • Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams as required
  • Administer IV therapy and phlebotomy; manage peripheral, arterial, and central lines
  • Provide respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen masks, portable oxygen, and non-invasive airway support (BIPAP)
  • Titrate medication IV infusions and manage complex medication protocols
  • Implement isolation precautions and PPE protocols
  • Care for adult and geriatric patients with specialized monitoring needs

Requirements

  • Active New York RN license (required before start)
  • Minimum 1 year nursing experience
  • BLS certification
  • NIHSS certification (valid certificate required with application)
  • EPIC charting experience (hard requirement)
  • Current residence more than 75 miles from facility
