Surgical Technician - CVOR

Job Details:

• Specialize in cardiovascular operating room procedures including heart and vascular services
• Organize and prepare case set-up prior to start of case according to standard operating procedures
• Assist the Registered Nurse with circulating duties including preps, retrieving supplies, and printing pictures
• Clean, assemble, operate, and properly care for instruments, supplies, and equipment used in team specialties including bronchoscopy and EGD equipment
• Assist in orientation and training of second heart scrubs
• Provide patient care according to diagnosis and procedure utilizing procedure cards and following established policies and procedures
• Document procedure changes on procedure cards following each case
• Responsible for ordering and stocking supplies
• Print procedure cards and assist Registered Nurse during on-call cases including Lab and Blood Bank
• Participate in measuring and monitoring quality indicators and outcomes
• Serve as subject matter expert for vascular and endovascular procedures
• Identify and communicate unusual techniques and instruments required for surgery including complex life-saving devices and equipment
• Must possess knowledge and skills in sterile and aseptic technique as well as a broad variety of surgical procedures and instrumentation
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiovascular operating room required
• Travel experience required with preference for 3 completed assignments
• Strong cardiovascular operating room experience required
• North Dakota license required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• May be registered as an Unlicensed Assistive Person, RN, or LPN
