Surgical Tech - CVOR Tech

Job Details:

• Work five 8-hour shifts per week in an acute care setting
• Participate in call rotation as required
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of patient care in the operating room including prepping, draping, positioning, and moving patients
• Demonstrate working knowledge of surgical procedures and provide necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment
• Set up and maintain sterile fields throughout surgical procedures
• Share responsibility with registered professional nurse for correct counts of instruments, sponges, needles, and sharps
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of medications used during surgical procedures and ensure accurate identification and labeling
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the handling of specimens
• Assist the surgery team with room turnover and preparation for procedures
• Ensure knowledge and responsible use of correct implants and prostheses for each procedure
• Participate in surgical site and patient verification during timeout procedures
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
• Ability to participate in current and future training programs to learn new functions necessary for the OR
• Orthopedic experience required with increased focus on total joint replacements
• Charting system: TruBridge - Evident
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) via HSPA, Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) via NBSTSA Verification, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA
