Med Surg RN Job in Des Moines, IA

You will work as a Registered Nurse providing medical-surgical and neurology care at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. This is a 90-day travel assignment beginning July 13, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• Three 12.5-hour day shifts per week, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend and every other holiday schedule
• Weekly pay: $2,213.64

Your Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions throughout your shift
• Administer medications as prescribed by physicians
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and clinical outcomes accurately in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain current nursing licensure and required certifications

You will care for patients on a medical-surgical unit with neurology patients, providing direct patient care, monitoring vital signs, managing medications, and coordinating care with physicians, therapists, and support staff. Your documentation will be thorough and timely to ensure continuity of care.
