PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in mixed acuity Progressive Care Unit with Medical/Surgical Telemetry and Medical/Surgical patients
• Patient ratios: 1:3-5 for days and weekends, 1:3-6 for nights (ratios adjusted by acuity)
• Float to sister units including West 2, West 3, and Observation unit as needed
• Every other weekend requirement
• 12-hour orientation provided
• Must have PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Must live more than 50 miles from facility
• New York license required in hand to submit
• EPIC charting experience is mandatory
• Wear any solid color scrubs
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: PALS, TCAR
• Care for surgical pre and post-operative patients including ENT, general surgery, trauma surgery, and orthopedic surgery
• Manage overflow medical diagnosis patients and rare pediatric patients (only if experienced)
• Skills include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insulin protocols, central line care, blood product administration, chest tube management, and wound care
• Work with interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
