RN - Oncology

Job Details:

• 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio maintained on days, nights, and weekends
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• Float requirement rotated with staff
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
• Epic charting system experience required
• First-time travelers welcome
• Care for adult patients with cancer diagnoses including hematology, medical oncology, bone marrow transplant, and gynecologic and surgical oncology
• Work in a 7-bed positive pressure wing caring for bone marrow transplant and acute leukemia patients
• Assist with bedside CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy infusions
• Operate Alaris IV pumps integrated with Epic, barcode medication administration systems, SCD machines, and Alaris feeding pumps
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA)
• Preferred certification: ONS
• Required skills include: accessing and managing ports, chemotherapy administration, blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC line management, telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, PCA management, phlebotomy, IV insertion and maintenance, and use of rapid response and code teams
