Med Surg RN Job in Windber, PA

You are a Registered Nurse with an RN degree, and you're ready to take a 91-day travel assignment at Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber. This is your opportunity to work on a 33-bed medical-surgical floor in an acute care setting, where you'll care for a diverse patient population in a collaborative environment.

Your Role

You'll work the night shift on a 3x12 schedule, managing approximately 6 patients per shift. Your responsibilities include:

• Providing direct patient care using the MEDITECH electronic medical record system
• Caring for orthopedic patients recovering from total knee and hip replacements
• Supporting bariatric patients post-gastric sleeve and gastrectomy procedures
• Managing patients with CHF, COPD, TIA, and those requiring cardiac catheterization intervention
• Collaborating with CCU staff available on each shift to read monitor strips on the unit's 16 telemetry monitors
• Receiving supervisor backup support as needed

Shift and Scheduling

You work nights on 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week. Block scheduling is available for traveling nurses. Flexible scheduling options include every other weekend or a schedule that fits your availability. You have the flexibility to adjust your arrangement with unit leadership.

Credentials and Requirements

BLS certification is required. ACLS is preferred but not required. A BSN is not required for this role. You do not need to provide your own scrubs, and there are no specific scrub color requirements.

Contract Terms

Your assignment runs 91 days, starting June 15, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,102.40. The contract cancellation policy allows for 2 shifts notice for the duration of your contract.
