Med Surg RN Job in Artesia, NM

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 26-bed Medical-Surgical unit at Artesia General Hospital in Artesia, New Mexico. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting May 5, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,043.36.

Schedule and Expectations

• 3x12 night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement with potential holiday rotation
• No call or standby requirements
• No floating requirements
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3-5

Requirements and Experience

• Current RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of Medical/Surgical-Telemetry experience
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Ability to titrate drips including insulin, amiodarone, and levophed
• Ability to maintain intubation
• PCU/Stepdown experience preferred
• LTAC experience beneficial
• BSN not required; first-time travelers accepted

Unit Details and Systems

• Work with Mindray cardiac monitors
• Chart using TruBridge-Evident system
• Care for medical/surgical and PCU patients
• Potential to rotate through PCU area caring for critically ill patients on drips with invasive monitors
• Work with respiratory therapy equipment and continuous BiPAP/CPAP
• Navy blue scrubs required

Onboarding

• Complete mandatory modules (approximately 20 hours) prior to working on the floor
• 1-2 day orientation with preceptor depending on your needs
