CVOR RN Job in Asheville, NC

Join Mission Hospital's cardiovascular operating room team as a Travel RN. This 91-day assignment offers a hands-on perioperative nursing role in a specialized surgical setting where you'll provide direct patient care in a 4-bed unit with 1:1 patient ratios.

Schedule and Compensation

• 3x12 hour day shifts (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
• Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM standard operating hours
• Stay late 1–2 times per week as needed
• Weekly pay: $2,233.80
• Assignment start date: June 8, 2026

Your Responsibilities

• Perform large-bore IV starts, medication administration, and comprehensive skin assessments
• Prepare patients for surgery including chin-to-toe hair removal and skin prep
• Assist with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement
• Transport patients to the operating room and support induction, intubation, and positioning
• Provide preoperative and postoperative care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Document thoroughly using the Cerner system
• Float within your scope of practice and experience as unit needs require

Required Qualifications

• RN with critical care experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• PreOp experience preferred
• Strong independent work skills and critical thinking ability
• Excellent communication with interdepartmental teams

Equipment and Environment

You'll work with GE Carescape monitoring systems and Fuji ultrasound equipment. The unit is staffed by RNs and supported by a clinical nurse coordinator, secretary, and shared manager. Scrubs are provided.
