Med Surg RN Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Medical-Surgical nursing. You will work 3x12 night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) with a guaranteed 36 hours per week, earning $2,377.08 weekly.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in a 40-bed inpatient med surg unit serving pre- and post-surgical adult and geriatric patients
• Manage 10–15 admissions daily in a fast-paced environment with 90–95% occupancy
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:7 on night shifts
• Deliver post-surgical care, medication administration, and patient monitoring using Epic EMR, medication scanning rovers, and Alaris infusion pumps
• Float to other inpatient units as needed
• Work every other weekend and holiday as required

Required Qualifications:

• Current Wisconsin RN license
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2+ years of medical-surgical nursing experience with recent hospital experience
• Trauma Level II facility experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Associate degree or certificate in nursing (bachelor's degree preferred)

Additional Information:

• Assignment begins July 6, 2026
• Eligible for up to 36 hours of low census unbillable time with option to work reduced 4-hour shifts
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Must reside outside the 50-mile radius of facility location
• Mask required during flu season if flu and COVID vaccination are declined
