PACU RN Job in Dallas, TX

You will work as an RN in a 16-bed Post Anesthesia Care Unit at Medical City Heart and Spine in Dallas, Texas. This is a travel position with a 3x12 day shift schedule (8:00 AM – 8:30 PM), running 91 days starting April 21, 2026. Weekly pay is $1,708.20.

Unit Overview

The PACU maintains a 2:1 patient ratio with day shift staffing of 1 charge nurse and 8 staff members. You will work with specialized cardiac and spine surgery patients in a focused, team-oriented environment.

Clinical Focus

You will care for patients recovering from cardiac catheterizations, ablations, carotid endarterectomies, TAVR procedures, laminectomies, and orthopedic procedures including hip and knee replacements. The unit utilizes advanced monitoring and support equipment:

• LVADs and A-lines
• Swan-Ganz catheters
• Ventilators

Documentation is managed through the Meditech EMR system.

Requirements and Experience

You must hold current ACLS certification. Critical care ICU experience is required—candidates without this background will not be considered. PACU experience is also required. Cardiac experience and orthopedic or neurological experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

Beyond core PACU duties, you may float to the pre-op area as needed. Call responsibilities include a 1-hour response time to the hospital, and weekend call requirements apply. Royal blue scrubs are required per dress code.
